Dr. Jaberi specializes in general and minimally invasive surgery and focuses on breast surgery, both cancer and benign disease. She is board-certified in general surgery and is ASBS-certified (American Society of Breast Surgery) in both ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsy techniques. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She has been practicing surgery since 2004.
She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1998. She completed a general-surgery residency at George Washington University Hospital and completed clinical breast fellowship supervised by Dr. Shawna Willey. She holds a BA in biology from Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
Dr. Jaberi is passionate about delivering the best surgical care possible for her patients and has been actively acquiring new skills as they become available, such as Biozorb placement and hidden-scar breast surgery, so that she always stays in the forefront of her specialty. She enjoys getting to know her patients and treating them like family. On follow-up visits, she enjoys swapping stories with patients and hearing how they have been doing since their last visit. Her inspiration for medicine came from her father who is an anesthesiologist of over 40 years. After her aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer during her medical school training, she decided to pursue a specialty in breast oncology.
She has teaching experience with students and residents across a broad range of medical and scientific topics. She has held leadership positions, including being president of Maryland Medical Society county subsection, and has participated with advocacy groups to improve health care delivery in Maryland.
She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She is happily married and has one son. When not in the office, hospital, or operating room, she likes to spend time with her family. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading and oil painting.
